Here are 5 Essential Foot Care Products for you

Feet are easy to neglect – but it pays dividends when you take care of them.  Aside from visiting to a podiatrist, taking care of your feet at home is also a best thing you can do for your foot health! There are many ways you can keep your feet healthy but we have some recommendations on keeping an essential foot care kit in your home so you can pamper and look after your feet.

Here are 5 Essential Foot Care Products that you may need:

1. Nail file

A nail file can help smooth out any rough edges after clipping them. While you should not round the sides of your nails, keeping the edges smooth can help reduce cutting or snagging your toenail on socks, stockings, and other objects.

2. Nail clippers

We often forgotten our toenails because we don’t see them as much as our fingernails, but it’s also important to keep them trimmed correctly to avoid common problems like ingrown toenails. In addition, one most important thing is to cut your toenails straight across the top so you reduce the risk of the nails growing into the sides.

3. Sunscreen

Many people are diligent about applying sunscreen on their face and body, but forget their feet! When you are wearing sandals or other footwear that exposes your feet, they are at risk of sunburn. Protect your feet from the pain, peeling, and inflammation of sunburn by regularly applying sunscreen to the tops of your feet.

4. Pumice stone

A pumice stone can help remove dead, rough skin on your feet to keep them nice and smooth. We recommend to soak your feet in warm water with epsom salt first (for the added benefits of reducing inflammation and absorbing magnesium) for about 15-20 minutes. Then, use the pumice stone to rub away the rough areas like the heel and ball of foot. Do NOT use if you have diabetes or open wounds as this can increase your risks of infection.

5. Moisturizer

Applying a moisturizer after washing your feet is a best time to inspect your feet! Check for any pain or changes in your toenails or skin. Also, moisturize the heel and other dry areas but take note to avoid in between the toes.

With these 5 foot care products, you can keep your feet clean, smooth, and healthy in the comfort of your own home. Your daily foot care routines can play a big part in your overall foot health.
