Bellingham’s Two Goals

What a night!

Massive congratulations to England on a thrilling 2–1 extra-time victory over Norway to secure a spot in the World Cup semi-finals.  While Jude Bellingham’s heroic goals grabbed the headlines, let’s look at the real foundation of that 93rd-minute winner: elite foot health.

During an intense 120-minute football match, players’ feet can absorb forces of up to three times their body weight with every stride, cut and change of direction. Without optimal biomechanics and foot function, athletes are at greater risk of injuries such as plantar fasciitis, turf toe, stress fractures and tendon overload — conditions that can sideline even the fittest competitors.

Elite footballers invest countless hours not only in strength and conditioning but also in caring for their feet.  Their footwear is carefully selected, movement patterns are analysed and any imbalance is addressed early to maximise performance and minimise injury risk.  They understand that every great performance starts from the ground up.

But podiatric health isn’t just for World Cup stars. Whether you are sprinting down the pitch in Miami or walking the dog in the rain, or simply staying active, your feet are your foundation.

Good biomechanics, appropriate footwear, and custom orthotics can improve comfort, reduce injury risk and help keep you doing what you love.

Pain is never something you should simply “put up with”.  Persistent heel pain, aching arches, sore knees or recurring foot discomfort can often be signs that your biomechanics need attention.  Early assessment can help identify small issues before they become bigger problems.

Because whether you’re chasing a place in a World Cup semi-final or simply chasing the kids around the park, every great performance starts with healthy feet.
